1st June 2021 | INTERNSHIP CELL | 170 students were selected for internship in 15 companies, which is the highest ever. Another 270 students and alumni were selected for internships via college's tieup with Internshala. 20 students obtained internships through other means. The Internship Cell has established a new record this year, with 460 students in all getting selected for internships during the year. |

The business plan competition had four business plans being presented on the day that were shortlisted from the ten business plans. 24th December 2019 | ROTRACT CLUB | The project was an all over Mumbai tournament for carrom and chess organized by the sports avenue. The project was carried out for all the players of carrom and chess to enhance their skills and showcase them by competing against other players. The planning for the event commenced in the beginning of the December and we searched to find the logistics required to conduct the event along with the venue. We approached our principal to help us get permissions for SIES school hall, Matunga as it would be an apt stage and remove the incumbrance of travelling. All the logistics were arranged on personal basis and free of cost so that maximum prizes could be awarded to the winners. On the day, the team arrived an hour before the scheduled time to setup the logistics so the event could be commenced on time. Registration desks were setup and a nominal fee to be a part of the tournament was charged, the event started at 9:15 am and concluded at 4 pm. The event was publicized on all social media handles of the club to reach as many people as possible. Even though a sense of competing was created it was all in good spirit and was filled with feelings of enjoyment for the participants as well as the team. Participants were awarded with appreciation and participation certificates. |

10th December 2019 | ROTRACT CLUB | The idea of the event rooted from one of the avenue meets which took place, the members came up with this idea of visiting government offices and questioning them about the triggering issue faced by us today. We decided to conduct this event on world Anti-corruption day. We had prepared a list of questions which we might ask the officers. We also decided the government offices which we might visit. The publicity of the event was done on all our social media platforms. On day around 15 members had shown up for the event. We met in college first, from where we left together. we the Rotaract Club of SIES Sion East visited various Government offices in the neighbouring areas of Sion, Matunga and Wadala. We spent almost 7 hours covering all the offices. Firstly, we went to the Sion Police station wherein we had a small interview with the senior inspector and penned down his views on how corruption can have a serious impact on our society. The interview went out pretty well. The officer seemed to be very practical and had strong opinions towards the issue. Next, we went to the BMC office in Matunga and interviewed one of the senior officers which went out pretty well too. As he was one of the senior officers he had a lot of insight on the issue and he conveyed that it is small and general ignorant issues which had led this problem to grow bigger day by day thereby making it destructive for the economy. He also said that to eradicate this issue everyone has to join their hands and pledge towards being a better citizen. Finally, we headed to the RTO office in Wadala. There we took an interview of an officer belonging to a superior position. He gave us his valuable thoughts about anti-corruption, it's root cause, ways by which we can reduce it and also spoke about many unknown facts which astonished all of us. We felt honoured to have a good conversation with such valuable people of our society whose aim is to eliminate the menace of corruption. Though we had a questionnaire prepared majority of the questions where impromptu, it was less like an interview and more like an interactive session. |
9th December 2019 | ROTRACT CLUB | This project is an initiative of Mr. Ramesh Jain who himself is an entrepreneur for the past 30 years. Through this project 'UDAAN' Mr. Ramesh Jain & his team of entrepreneurs wants to give a platform to students, housewives, young generation and unemployed people to develop the entrepreneurial qualities and skills to start their own business. We informed the secretary about the requirements for the event which were taken care off. The publicity of the event was done all our social media platforms. On day the team had arrived 30 minutes prior to the event and took care of all the preparations. Mr. Ramesh sr and his team had arrived at the venue on time. All the arrangements were done and the event had commenced. Mr.Ramesh sr had conducted the seminar in a practical and interactive manner , he spoke to everyone friendly and answered their various doubts and queries. He cleared all the misconceptions everyone possessed with astonishing facts and proofs thereby giving them the confidence they needed. The audience got to acquire a lot of knowledge from this seminar.it turned out to be very fruitful for them. |

25th October 2019 | ROTRACT CLUB | The event was planned about a month ago. We scheduled the event right after the exams as it would act as a stress buster for the members. We contacted many pet caf's. We explained about the event to everyone and spoke to them about the rates, amenities and also about the various breeds of dogs possessed by them. After looking in to each and everything, we then decided to collaborate with pawfect caf' in Andheri. The rates charged were per person 200 rs for 1 hour. They had Labrador, golden retriever, Pug, Shih Tzu, Beagle, Siberian Husky, Rottweiler, American Bully and Boxer. The publicity of the event was done on all our social media platforms. All the other arrangements were taken care off. We had informed the manager about the no of people who might show up for the event. As only certain no of people are allowed at a particular time. On day everyone had assembled at the venue by 11:30. The manager had explained to everyone the do's and don'ts . After which everyone was allowed to play. The members were divided in to 2 group of 15 each. All the dogs were just too adorable and charming, they were very cheerful and welcoming too. They got along with each and everyone of us and treated us with love and care. Not sure if were able to reciprocate the same amount of love and care we received, but everyone did leave a piece of their heart in the magical beings with 4 paws forever. No one was willing to leave, everyone were just glued to the dogs and were not letting them go. It was indeed a much needed therapy session for them which got them out of their zones and be human for a while. |

All permissions from the college authorities were also taken beforehand. The enlightening topic for the seminar was 'Data science and Analytics'. The spectators were eager and curious regarding the seminar as though how will it benefit a commerce graduate, what is to be done to be a data scientist etc. were few questions arising in the minds of the viewers. 4 guests had been present to take this Seminar out of which 3 were IIT / IIM graduates and who flawlessly conducted the whole seminar. All doubts and questions raised by the audience were answered by the speakers calmly and in a way to make them understand most about this unexplored profession which is open to all streams. An overwhelming crowd of more than 40 were there to attend the whole seminar. The feedback from the audience was amazing. A lot of students were interested to know more about this particular data science field. All myths of the viewers were clarified by the instructors with examples and practical scenarios which gave the viewers an easy grasp of the topics covered in the session. In the end, the speakers distributed a free counselling session flyer for the interested audience which was very beneficial for them. |

Out of our 3 preferable options, we were assigned 16th August,2019 from 6 pm to 8 pm for conducting the installation ceremony. But due to some uncertainties the event was later postponed to 20th August,2019 from 5 pm to 7 pm. The permission to conduct the event in SIES high school hall was taken in advance. The preparations were started about 2 weeks prior to the event. Auditions were held to choose the host for the installation ceremony, in which many members had participated out of which Rtr.Fiza and Rtr.Krithika were chosen. The rest of them were assigned in various avenues such as Admin, Creatives ,Digitals, Order & Discipline and Back stage. The auditions were taken by our former hosts and Vice-Presidents 2019-2020 Rtr.Deep Chandra and Rtr.Tanya Bhambri. The finance was handled by Rtr.Pranav Ramesh and Rtr.Sagar Shetty, our treasurers. The script for the installation ceremony was prepared by Rtr.Priyanka Mudaliyar, Editorials head. Everyone was well verse with their duties and responsibilities. The team was very much prepared and ready to face the big-day. The D-day had arrived, everyone had assembled at the venue by 4 pm to get started with all the preparations. All the dignitaries had reached the venue before 5 pm. The event was delayed by 30 minutes due to some technical issues but we managed to end it on time. |

17th August 2019 | ROTRACT CLUB | On the occasion of World Humanitarian Day we, the Rotaract Club of SIES Sion East had decided to visit 'Girls Inspired for Tomorrow' (GIFT) NGO which is situated at Malad, on 17th August,2019. We had already done many events with them in the past years and we were more than delighted to do it again. We contacted them and spoke to them about the event which we wanted to do to which they had positively responded. The NGO was specifically for the girls. The kids in that NGO were of age 5-14. |

Our volunteers participated in the rally that started from Azad Maidan till the Hutatma chowk wherein the volunteers participated silently, with any slogans. |
4th August 2019 | ROTRACT CLUB | On day everyone reported at the venue by 8: am and started working by 8:30 am. We were given hand gloves and as refreshments we were given monster energy drink. We were accompanied by many volunteers from all around Mumbai. Well known celebrity Arjun Kapoor had shown his support by participating in this event. we all really enjoyed a lot and felt really proud to have worked for this cause. We clicked some pictures at the end of the event and had a few words with the representative of beach warriors. We left the location around 10 am. |
2nd August 2019 | N.S.S. | Our college launched a 'Plantation Programme' on the occasion of the World Environment Day in the locality of Thane, Mental hospital (regional). The N.S.S volunteers were highly enthusiastic to make it a big success and all 24 of them partook in planting saplings and watering the plants. |
1st August 2019 | FINANCIAL MARKETS | The third edition of the heated discussions was held in our college auditorium. The organizing committee welcomed the judges, Satnam Mehtaru and Shreya Hegde, along with the participants. With the topic chosen for the year being 'public sector should be privatized', 5 participants from each team vied for honors. One team argued for the motion and the other against the motion. One participant from each team gave the opening statement followed by the debate, in which the opposing teams asked questions to each other based on their opening statements. After the debate, the panel was open to questions from the audience as well as the jury members. Both the teams exhibited great oratory skills. At the end of the heated but interesting debate, the team speaking for the motion was declared the winner and the team members were presented with medals and certificates. Also, one member from each team bagged the best speaker award. In addition to that, all the other participants were given a certificate of participation. A vote of thanks was given by the Head of the Department. The day concluded on a joyous note. |

30th July 2019 | ROTRACT CLUB | On the event day, HP representatives reached college by 8:30 am and were escorted by our Rotaractors to the designated place. The team helped the HP representatives set up the desk and also helped them with all the other arrangements. The desk was ready and was open to all by 9:00 am. ?Students showed up in large numbers for the event. After the registration, the HP representatives explained them about all the latest models of HP laptops and their features. They also spoke about all the other gadgets marketed by HP. The HP representatives addressed all the queries, doubts and misconceptions which the students had. They also allowed the students to use the laptops and have a personal experience for a better and clear view about the gadget. The students were doomed to know about all the exciting offers and discounts proposed by HP. ?Before winding up, the HP representatives met with our college Principal and spoke with her for a few minutes about the successful completion and great response of the event and about all the offers and discounts that the college can avail on further purchase of any HP gadgets. |

26th July 2019 | ROTRACT CLUB | On the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, we, the Rotaract Club Of SIES Sion East, invited the BIA (Brothers In Arms) to come to college and give a motivational speech to the students of the college. The PR was done in the form of whatsapp messages and word of mouth. Permissions for the auditorium along with other facilities like projector, chairs and tables were taken care of well in advance. The students gathered in the auditorium of the college at 10 am. The BIA gave them a speech about the bravery and sacrifices by the Indian Army during the Kargil War. They told them inspiring stories of the Army officers and the various wars that they have fought. We gave the speakers a chocolate bar, certificates of appreciation and bouquets as a token of gratitude. |
26th July 2019 | ROTRACT CLUB | The project was the second version of the event which took place last year. It was planned well in advance and the permission was taken prior to the event. The publicity of the event was done on all social media handles. A desk was set up at the college foyer with novels securely placed in newspaper envelopes so that the students could not make an obvious choice. Every book in the envelope had a note in it written by the owner of that book for the one who was supposedly going to get that book in exchange. Every person participating had to bring X number of books that they want to exchange, each with a note in that written by themselves. The books that the students had brought were packed in the envelope and the students were given the same number of books they brought, along with a bookmark in it. |

23rd July 2019 | ROTRACT CLUB | The event was planned about 2 weeks in prior and we instantly started with the preparation. After contacting many professionals for the workshop, we seized the deal with the budding starz of tomorrow dance Academy. As soon as we received the confirmation from the trainers, we informed team Sec. The Permission for the same was taken swiftly. The publicity of the dance workshop commenced 3 days prior to the event. The publicity was done on all our social media handles. The big day had arrived, we reached the venue 30 minutes before the Reporting time and did all the needful arrangements. The registration was closed and the participants had assembled by 12pm.The trainers arrived 30 minutes late to the venue .To keep participants hyped during the wait we had them grooving to the latest hits. The event commenced by introducing the supremely talented Steven Fernandes ,Sadik Shaikh and Alan Peter from the Starz of tomorrow dance Academy to the enthusiastic crowd. The crew took over the dance floor and started the session by a small warm up session. The crew taught the choreography to the evergreen song 'U-N-I( Mere Dil vich hai hum tum)' from the movie Hum Tum. The participants seem really engaged through out the session. The trainers were helping everyone out individually to do the steps easily. The crew had selected 4 participants who were willing to dance with them and they had all performed together. At the end of the session the crew performed their number for the entire crowd. After the president delivered his vote of thanks. The Starz of tomorrow then clicked few photos with the team and the participants. Impact Analysis of the Project? The event turned out be helpful for the beginners as well as semi-beginners and it also challenged the dancers out there. As it was the Debut PD event for the year it's successful completion was really inspiring for the team. It really had quite a impact on the membership as the Membership drive was still going on. |

They were informed about the pulse polio campaigns being held at different locations of Sion for the kids whose parents couldn't afford such vaccine/treatment. We, Rotaractors joined hands with them to assist in their work and make their reach farther. A day prior to the camp, a training session on how to give the drops and mark a child after completion of the procedure, were given to each Rotaractor. Each Rotaractor witnessed and performed the task handed over to them. We collaborated to assist in a small way eradicating polio from the areas in our college vicinity. Whatsapp had been a powerful source for us to encourage Rotaractors in taking this tiny step to eradicate polio. |

This year, Disha was scheduled for 27-28th September 2018. With the innauguration and internship fair being held on the 26th September. The topics covered during the workshop were Meaning of Wealth Management and Private Banking, Wealth management needs of HNIs, Products and Services, Onshore and Offshore Wealth management, Career opportunities in the sector, etc. The workshop provided new insights to students regarding a niche area of Finance. Postworkshop, The Association also offered Internship opportunities to the students in various domains. |

A registration amount of Rs.180 was charged for Ultimate Frisbee and Rs.300 for Futsal Mania per team. On day the field was set up by our volunteers and the event was conducted. Futsal had knock out rounds on both 15th and 16th September and a league for Frisbee was arranged only on 15th September. |

The hours of effort put in the presentation and learning the material was clearly seen. The judges tricked and questioned the participants on some points, sometimes they fumbled, sometimes they answered, but they always learnt. Once all presentations were done, the panel was then open for discussion with the crowd, solving all their G.S.T related queries and educating them more. Once the panel discussion was done, the judges spoke about it was a privilege to them to be part of such an amazing event and that the college has been successful in doing something that the entire of India hasnt. The Chief guest, Mr. Subhash Moral who is the Additional Commissioner of State Tax (G.S.T), VAT1, Mumbai he was accompanied by Mr. Ajay Modi, Managing Director of M/S Metaltrim India Pvt. Ltd. Joint by Mr. Mangesh Gondavale, the deputy commissioner of state tax government of Maharashtra alongside Mr. Shailesh Ghedia, The President for consumers guidance forum, he also happens to have other prestigious titles to his name. Disha's aim has been to provide the college- going youth with a platform for interacting with experts from various sectors of the economy and numerous institutions by the means of seminars and workshops to get a clearer idea, a sense of direction. a DISHA. Among other things also organised were competitions of various sorts, to provide interested students with a platform to exhibit their skills and talents, and be judged. These competitions were infused with trends of the day, and a criterion which put to test the participants aesthetic, physical, mental, ethical and vocational skills. Summing up, Disha 2016 looked into the dawn of new age careers, to help students gain a competitive edge, and to make them aware of the resources at hand to achieve efficiency and potential. |
