Fantasies has been a part of SIES College and the heart of its cultural activities for the past 16 years. This year it was celebrated for a span of 2 days on 15th and 16th December 2016 respectively. A wide variety of events in various genres like literary arts, fine arts, performing arts, sports, IT events etc were witnessed. FANTASIES has also played host to a number of respected, talented and well known celebrities over the years. It received a record participation from colleges affiliated to the University of Mumbai and over 8000 college students for Fantasies this year . Fantasies was based on the theme NIRVANA- COME AS YOU ARE. As the theme suggests, NIRVANA is a place of serenity and tranquility where you are aligned with the truth of who you really are - Your mind is NIRVANA. |

Speakers Ms. Nausheen and Ms. Irfat were both practicing lawyers who enlightened the students on the basic rights especially for Women and Children. The workshop received a very good response with around 120 participants. |

Students of the S.I.E.S. College of Commerce & Economics had conducted an annual semi-cultural career guidance fair ' DISHA 2016 ' on September 1 and 2, 2016. Disha's aim has been to provide the college- going youth with a platform for interacting with experts from various sectors of the economy and numerous institutions - by the means of seminars and workshops - to get a clearer idea, a sense of direction'. a DISHA. Among other things also organised were competitions of various sorts, to provide interested students with a platform to exhibit their skills and talents, and be judged. These competitions were infused with trends of the day, and a criterion which put to test the participants' aesthetic, physical, mental, ethical and vocational skills. Summing up, Disha 2016 looked into the dawn of new age careers, to help students gain a competitive edge, and to make them aware of the resources at hand to achieve efficiency and potential. |

The SIES Inter-Collegiate Debate Competition was held at SIES College of Commerce and Economics organized by The Speakers Forum on 27th August, 2016 at 9.30 am in the college auditorium. The event was judged by Prof. Kiran Kaul, Associate Professor, Department of Economics, Mulund College of Commerce and Prof. Shyam Choithani, Coordinator, Department of Mass Media at V.G. Vaze College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Mulund. Participants from SIES College of Commerce and Economics, Miss. Ritika Anant Padmanabhan (S.Y.B.M.S) and Miss. Sovana Dash (T.Y.B.Com) walked away with much coveted first prize, second Prize won by Ms. Akanksha Shenoy (F.Y.B.Sc) and Mr. Saurabh Rajput (T.Y.B.A) of SIES College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Sion (West) and third prize won by Ms.Simran Jain (F.Y.B.M.S) and Ms. Shivani Raut (F.Y.B.M.S) from R. A. Podar College of Commerce & Economics, Matunga. The Best Speaker award was awarded to Mr. Saurabh Rajput from SIES College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Sion (West). |
